Scott's baptism

I can't believe Scott is old enough to be baptized! He was baptized on March 2, and it was a perfect day. It was one of the most spiritual baptisms I have ever been to, thanks to some great talks by his grandmas. We are grateful so many of our family was there to support us. To top off the celebration, we went to Los 2 Amigos in the Ranches. They let us use the banquet room, so we were all together.

A couple weeks before, we went to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple to get some pictures taken. Jamie did a great job, and everyone was a trooper to be out in the cold.

Scott has been looking forward to his baptism for a while. He's such a good kid, and I know he made the right choice. He's on his way to becoming a righteous priesthood holder and a missionary.

February - Way too busy for the shortest month

February is normally really busy for us with so many family birthdays, but this year was especially busy. We found out in December that we are expecting baby #4, and I felt normal (pregnant normal anyway) until the end of January when I started having kidney pain. Turns out I had a large kidney stone on each side. That was a long process to take care of, consisting of antibiotics and 2 surgeries. Not so helpful when I need to celebrate Chesleigh and Scott's birthdays! Luckily we were able to get everything taken care of, and the baby continued to do well and grow on schedule. On to happier pictures!

Her actual birthday was a little crazy - she opened presents in between her gymnastics class and her brother's soccer academy. She got a bunch of cute shoes, crazy cubes, and a stuffed pink horse.

Scott's birthday was 2 weeks later. It was a big one for him, since he turned 8. He also got a party; which was pizza, presents, and watching Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3. He got a couple of Messi Argentina jerseys, Legos, and a gumball machine.

The kids were such good helpers while I was down sick, and they really didn't complain much. Scott even made dinner one night - microwave lasagna. I'm so proud of these guys, and can't believe how big they are getting.

Long December

I can't believe how busy December was! With futsal, dance, Christmas parties, performing the Nativity, and lots of time spent with family, I have a lot to catch up on.

Evy was not a fan of Santa or dressing up for the Nativity. . . (She's the sheep on the far left, arching so Zach will have to let her go.)

But she really liked her ball popper!
This year Chesleigh has been in a tap class (taught by our friend Janis), and continued in tumbling. We managed the multiple performance season and even a costume change during the recital! She did great!

She got a lot of fun things for Christmas:  a scooter, a DS, a pillow pet, and Barbie stuff. It's hard to say which is her favorite!

Scott played futsal for the first time this year, and his team ended the season in 2nd place. Their only loss was to another Rage team.
He got a couple of video games he really wanted for Christmas, a BYU pillow pet, and some soccer stuff.

We had a great 2012, and are really looking forward to 2013!

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

This past year has flown by! I can't believe Evelyn is 1 already. She can walk and talk, and loves her Daddy! Whenever she hears him open the garage, she races to the door to see him. She had cupcakes in ice cream cones, and LOVED them. We had a fun party with the Groo's, since she shares her birthday with Uncle Nate. (Missed that photo op - maybe next year!) It's hard to tell which she likes more, the new toys, or the bags they came in.

She is such a sweet little girl, and we all love her so much. Her brother and sister have just doted on her from the time she got here. I can't wait to see what other fun things she will discover in the future!

Ragnar!

Steve ran Ragnar over Father's Day weekend. The team captain was his sister, Stephanie, and Debbie and Jon were on the team, too. Clayton and Elise volunteered, so it was really a family affair.

They all did great, and had a lot of fun.

The finish area was fun, too. There were free smoothies (Scott had 4), fat boys (Ches had 2), and little Powerade (we all had at least 1).

I'm proud of Steve, he trained hard for several months and was able to run his whole route. It was a big deal, and I know the kids like that he did it, too. And now, we have the sticker on the car!

Busy May!

I can't believe how busy May is! Maybe it's a good thing there aren't any May birthdays in our family. On Mother's Day, we got to talk to my sister Lori, who is on a mission in Phoenix. She is doing great, of course. When she left, this is how little Evelyn was.

Now, she is rolling all over the place and even pulling herself forward to get to things. She is one busy little girl!

Scott is playing soccer in Saratoga Springs. His team is the Raptors. He has really become our little soccer player, and is a lot of fun to watch. He had fun at the zoo with the other 1st graders, and also did great in the culture fair at school.

Chesleigh graduated from preschool, and can't wait to go to kindergarten. Her tumbling recital is coming up, and she's also going to perform at Pony Express Days and be in the parade, too.

I love it when the weather starts getting warm, and we can go outside and do all these things as a family. Summer is going to be so much fun!

San Diego

We decided to go to San Diego for spring break. It was a lot of fun! Besides going swimming almost every day, here are some of the highlights.

The first thing we did was go to Sea World. We had breakfast with Shamu, which is awesome! You eat right next to one of the Shamu tanks, and a trainer gives you a show. You are so close!

Shamu was definitely everyone's favorite, but all of Sea World is great. Sunday we went to Sacrament Meeting then out to Coronado. I was so good and packed the beach bag with everything we would need, then we left it in our hotel room. Not so much fun at the beach . . . Coronado is beautiful though!

Monday and Tuesday we went to Legoland. We went to the waterpark there, too. It was so much fun to see Miniland and ride the rides. We even found a few we could go on as a family! It was Star Wars days there, so Scott loved that. Scott and Chesleigh loved driving the cars the best.

Wednesday we went to the zoo. It was trying to rain, but never did. We went on the bus tour very first, and the polar bear jumped in for a swim while we were there.

Before we left for home, we stopped by the Presidio. The museum was closed, but we were able to walk around the beautiful grounds and see a Mormon Battalion monument. Scott and Chesleigh didn't want to go at first, but then when we got there and they were able to run around they liked it.

Overall, it was a great trip! Evelyn was a trooper, and so were Scott and Ches. We made a lot of fun memories!
